Henrik Hultberg on Are Iranian Girls in a Sexual Crisis?
Thank you for a hopefull and refreshing article. Is there any more on similar subjects?
Betty on Iranians Count Cost of War, Two Decades on
I was very much interested to read this article written by my dear friend Fariba. It is most interesting for us westerners, to have a look at what is going on in Iran, and to know about the mood of the population, not only the mood of the officials.
Thomas Achelis on Iranians Count Cost of War, Two Decades on
I'm deeply touched after reading this excellent article written by my good friend Fariba. It shows - on the part of the officials - a dramatic misunderstanding of human being needs in terms of recognition and a kind of motivation.
Political leaders could find much more appreciation if they would open their ears to listen what people think. If they don't do it, they are not qualified.
Jonathan Shailor on Hidden Menace of “Iron Soldiers”
Imagine how world politics would be different if the U.S. devoted itself to helping Iran decommission landmines... instead of threatening Iran with military assault.
Barbara Baldock on Afghan Refugees Caught Between a Rock and a Hard Place
The United States and others should be doing more to "nation build" in Afghaniztan. The U.S. should have done more to help stabilize the country before leaving to invade Iraq although I feel the U.S. should have never invaded Iraq in the first place. I appreciate reading this in-depth story.
Robert Slack on Iran’s War on Drugs - Three Decades of Failure
As an alcoholic/addict in recovery,my heart goes out to those suffering in Iran both users and those affected by users.Blaming others only obscures the reality of addiction.I know recovery is possible having seen it in myself and many others.I applaud yout treatment emphasis and highly recommend Alcoholics Anonymous,a worldwide,non-political and non-religious organization with over seventy years of activity in the treatment venue as very much worth exploring for use in Iran.God help us all and best wishes...
ali on Iranians’ Love-Affair With Texting
Speaking of phenomenon, I have yet to read an article about Iranian public where the only people that are quoted are not from North Tehran...excuse the rest of us nonexistent sorry souls who don't live in TEHRAN yet alone in the NORTH Part of it!!
I used to think this phenomenon was only true in the Western media but I see that this is now true about Iranian based journalists too.
yolanda on Are Iranian Girls in a Sexual Crisis?
Thank you so much for the
translation. I will look forward to future articles.
Amir Shahidi on Labour Protests Reflect Growing Solidarity
In my view there is no labour movement at all in Iran like those in the West. Not only syndicate activities and strong unions, but the necessary culture for unity, backing each other up and precisely propounding demands does not exist among the workers of our country. Not even a shared demand could be found among workers. In my view, our great vulnerability is that we weigh and measure our society by western standards. We neither have anything called progressive labour movements, nor do our workers make common demands for democracy.
Anonymous on Labour Protests Reflect Growing Solidarity
The strongly divided demands of Iranian workers and the absence of a solidifying structure among them prevents the Iranian society from having a “labour movement”. Yet, it could not be denied that some of the great social developments of Iran – willingly or unwillingly – have been caused by labour activities. The 1979 revolution and lately Ahmadinejad’s victory [in the presidential elections] are the two major developments where workers’ footprints can be clearly seen as the main factor. Well done.
